We have a 2003 Renault Scenic 2.0L automatic (last of the Scenic I models). It has been fitted with 205/55 R15 tyres on alloy rims since new (on the second set of tyres now). The front tyres need replacement having failed a WOF. But 205/55 R15 tyres seem to be hard to find. The local Beaurepaires and their on-line site recommend 195/60 R15 tyres for our model of Scenic.

Is this tyre size choice okay for this model? I assume I would need to replace all four tyres if this size is used (not sure what to do about the spare in that case as it is 205/55 R15) and I am assuming that the diameter of the 195/60 tyre is slightly larger (may 1% on diameter?) and therefore speedometer and odometer readings change slightly.

Thanks

The 205/55R15 tyres are available and it's best to stick to the standard size as it will complicate things if you deviate from this size. They are available in the Bridgestone Potenza, GT Radial (Tyres4U), Dunlop and the Supercat (Bridgestone/Firestone) Tyre range. Ensure you keep to the same tyre pattern and construction.
