What is the compensation that should be requested.
The car was purchased from Miles Continental, secondhand, 18 months old, with 3 months warranty. Serious problem with DSG acknowledged and fixed. Shortly afterwards a recall by VW provided a major overhaul of DSG. Since then, significant oil and water leaks found during and after standard services. Now towed to Miles with EPC fault making car inoperable. Value of car seriously compromised.

If the dealer is rectifying the defects, they are fulfilling their obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act. However, as the vehicle is now out of warranty, they are not really obligated to carry out these repairs at no charge, but you may request post-warranty goodwill assistance. As long as the repairs are carried out, the value of the vehicle isn't compromised, so there aren't really any grounds for you to seek compensation.
