Hi,

Will perishing suspension bushes result in WOF failure?

Photos attached, left and right rear brushes. I am not sure what is the technical name.

I got a 2006 Japan import Toyota Estima 3.5L 4WD, a few weeks ago, from a dealer in Manukau, Auckland. It has a WOF issued by their regular workshop. The brushes look quite bad.

It was shown to me, during wheel alignment when I got the tyres fitted last weekend. The rear left is out of alignment.

Please help to advise.

Thanks you.

While I can't quite determine exactly what these rubber mounts are, they do look to be quite badly cracked, so if they are suspension bushes, I'd imagine they would fail a WoF.
I'd suggest taking the matter up with the dealer, but if no luck, you may have to pay for a WoF inspection at a Testing Station. Let the dealer know this is your intention and tell him that if they fail, you will be seeking the cost of the inspection back from him as well as having the problem fixed.
