I am trying to decide between these two vehicles for my family of 6 so that we can go on gravel roads to DOC site and ski fields more easily. No off roading. Please may you help with comparing reliability of these two vehicles? And any other relevant comments?

My pick would be the Highlander. These cars look to be NZ new and have a conventional transmission. As opposed to the import Delica with a cvt transmission, which has been known to give problems. The highlander would not be the most economic of vehicles though. Reliability would most deffinately be in favor of the Highlander.
