Hi,

VTNZ failed to report badly cracked rear suspension bushings, in their pre-purchase inspection report, therefore agreed to replace the rear suspension bushings, through their appointed workshop.

However after the rear suspension bushings were changed, there is creaking sound when the Toyota Estima is turning up and down a slope, driving on rough road etc.

The new bushing look very different from the original bushing. Photos of original cracked bushing and new installed busing, attached.

Will wrong bushings installed, cause the creaking sound?

There was no creaking sound before the new bushings were installed.

Please advise.

Many thanks.

Hi there,
The bushes look ok, it is often with replacement bushes to look a bit different than the origionals. Especially if aftermarket ones are used.
The gap is ok, as long as the arm is not rubbing on the lower part of the chassis.
Creaking may just mean it needs to be lubricated, if suspension bushes are not greased
when fitted they may cause noises.
