I have a 1988 Toyota Corolla EE90 Hatch back. The other day I got pulled over for no high stop lamp. I'm just wondering if these models even came with a high stop lamp? I cant seem to find any wiring for the high stop lamp or not even a placement for one on the boot. I got a spare part but when I plug that into the loom the wiring for the light leads to no where. Does this need to have a high stop light if it was not there factory?

Hi there,
A vehicle first registered on or after 1 Jan 1990 must be fitted with a hight stop light.
So just check, if your car was imported and registered in NZ after this date, then yes it must have a high stop light. If it is NZ new then wont require one.
If it is an import, it would be strange to have passed so many wofs without anyone picking it up.
