A daughter has a 1996 Starlet for sale and is not sure if the cambelt has been replaced. The car has done 160 000 km. Is there any way of knowing it it has been done?

Hi there,
At this mileage it is in the middle of replacement interviles. Due every 100,00 km, if it
was not replaced at 100km then it should have broken by now. You can check roughly
the condition of the belt by looking but you wont be able to tell when it was replaced.
Unless there is a sticker nearby that says the date and mileage of camblet replacement.
Usually in the engine bay.
