My garage has just had to rebuild my braking system because of extensive damage (brake caliper piston corrosion). Although my car is 9 years old, it has very low mileage. Such an extensive failure of the braking system is very worrying. Is this a matter I should investigate further? (I have kept the brake parts that needed to be replaced.)

Hi there,
I would not think there is any matter to investigate.
This kind of problem would be dependand to age and outside conditions rather than affected by km's.
It is not uncommon for vehicles to need brake calliper pistons to be replaced and callipers
to be re-kitted. I sould expect for the car to be older than 9 years before experiencing this kind of problem.
