Hi, I have a well serviced 1997 Jeep Cherokee with 180,000km on the clock, and was wondering what the normal coolant/water loss would be for a run of, say, 1000km over 2 days?

Does 'evaporation' even in a sealed system quicken once coolant drops below a certain level?

Tks, W.

Hi there,
If the cooling system is operating correctly, there should be no coolant loss.
The fully enclosed system is designed to operate with the overflow bottle maintaining
and contstant level, which may need an occasional top up.(Once a year type of thing)
There should be no air present in the system at any time, and not contact with the atmosphere, so there should really be next to no evaporation happening.
