Hi

My car (2004 Toyota Corolla Fielder X) occasionally starts vibrating violently when stopping and while the vibration is there the brake pedals become very tight and the car fails to stop till I press the pedal completely and even when stopping it takes long. The vibration has now stopped and the brake pedals are now functioning well. Once the vibration returns the brake pedals will become tight once again.

Would you know what the issue may be?

Kind Regards

Jitendra

Hi there,
It sounds like you may have warped brake discs that cause shuddering when braking, more so at high speed, maybe even a siezed brake calliper.
Or you may be activating the ABS emergency braking system, which is designed to minimise wheel lock up when braking hard.
Either way I recommend you take the vehicle to a workshop to get it checked for piece of mind.
