I have contacted the Technical Services Manager and the "Award Winning", Customer Services Manager at Mitsubishi NZ and have been waiting on a response from the latter for some 5 months. Whilst i appreciate my vehicle is out of warranty I can't get my head around the fact that Mitsubishi can happily replace low cost items like a Seat Belt and a Light Bulb under so called "Recalls" on my vehicle, yet walk away when a fault which effects vehicle braking arises a more costly fix, hiding behind the so called fact that a "Recall" hasn't been issued yet Mitsubishi Australia appear to honour this issue as Ruger77 advises. Like Rugar77 as a three time Mitsubishi owner i will not be purchasing another.

Unfortunately we appear to be next in line with ABS problems with our 2008 Lancer. How many others are there? I have researched to see that this problem is being rectified by Mitsubishi Australia - why not NZ? From the previous comments it would appear Mitsubishi NZ is, in fact, trying to dodge this very serious problem! Therefore it would seem apparent that this is indeed a known problem which should be receiving their urgent attention. Our car has only travelled 20,000 kms. We already have had callbacks for the seatbelt and a light bulb but it would appear the more costly problem is being avoided! We have had a quote from Mitsubishi Te Rapa for $2860 and are, quite frankly, gobsmacked. As this problem is to do with the brakes and a SAFETY ISSUE I feel it may have to be taken to Fair Go??? If it cannot be rectified fairly I will definitely never purchase another Mitsubishi, nor will any other person I know.
