Hi
I have been having a few issues where my AT light comes on from time to time and places my car into 3rd gear and stays there. Causes issues when on the motorway..... The light that has the shape of the engine constantly stays on also. A few different car specialists have tried scanning to see if there is a fault however unable to find anything. I am just wondering if this kind of problem has come up before and if so if there is a fix?

Hi there,
This sounds like the transmission goes into "fail-safe" or limp home mode when the light is illuminated. The vehicle should store a fault code that points in the direction of the fault.
I recommend taking the vehicle to a transmission specialist or to a Mazda agent for further inspection.
