Hi, I have few questions about the Lexus IS250. I am looking at second hand Lexus IS250 and was wondering if there is any noticeable issues I should be concerned. I see few people mentioning there was a recalled about the piston rings that might cause misfire at idle or something like that. How is this going to affect used car coming from Japan? Would they already have that sorted? Secondly, i assume the parts would be a bit dear when comparing to other Japanese car brands. Thirdly, I would think if the car is regular serviced and maintained, Lexus should be the most reliable Japanese car. Would like to get your opinions on those issues/comments. Thanks in advance.

Hi there,
The IS250 had a fuel system recall from 2005-2010 models, if the vehicle you are looking at was involved in this recall you should be able to look up whether it had it or not.
Lexus vehicles in general seem to be a bit better than your average, they are a Luxury Toyota product and thus parts and service are a little bit extra. I've not come across much in the way of problems to warn about, people love them, I like the exterior styling and they have the most comfortable seats out of any vehicle I have driven.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. Where I might access that information? Do I need to contact Lexus NZ or the dealer I am purchasing from? Would Lexus NZ kept records of all import IS250 as well? Many thanks.
