Recently, we had the opportunity to take the HR-V for a test drive at the launch. The route was set up for a 10-minute loop of the surrounding area adjacent to the Hunting Lodge with some tight 35-kilometre corners, opening to some nice scenic outlooks across the outer ridge of Waikoukou. It was decided to get a drive in before the rain set in for the afternoon and get the important photos carried out, then back for a bit of lunch before heading out again. The weather conditions made me think that the rain was going to make the afternoon drive less enjoyable. However, once behind the wheel we felt at ease with all the safety features at hand. One thing that did catch my eye was that when the lane assist was on, every time you touch the brake pedal the little car icon associated with the lane assist the brake lights lit up – which I thought was pretty neat.
