2016 introduces the A-series – a top spec hatch that’s always on the quest for improved power, superior finishes and handling. Not many do it quite like Mercedes. The aerodynamic-enhancement measures to the body, ensuring better handling and stability, and even more driving dynamics. The aero styling additions have mainly been added to the front bumper, grille, lower splitter, rear bumper and roof spoiler but the animal that lies beneath the body kit remains hidden.

The interior of the A45 AMG offers the perfect atmosphere for those with a passion for performance. The combination of sporty design and sophisticated detail is evident while stand out features include an AMG instrument cluster, performance steering wheel and sport seats in black Red Cut leather upholstery. The heated Recaro seats are really comfortable and the adjustable wings on your legs and torso hug your handles.

The most powerful 4-cylinder

The Mercedes AMG A45 4MATIC combines impressive power and efficiency. The completely revised powertrain and the improved aerodynamics deliver even more driving pleasure and emotion. The stand-alone, AMG,2.0L, four-cylinder, turbo engine is rated at 280kW, making it the world's most powerful 4-cylinder passenger car engine. It just managed to edge out the Audi RS3 and altogether it combines exhilarating performance, extreme durability and exemplary efficiency. All this power is then fed to the four wheels via the 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT transmission with paddle shifters.

An exhaust that barks

The five AMG DYNAMIC SELECT drive modes and the standard AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension allows a large spread between maximum driving dynamics and comfort. Our test vehicle was fitted with the optional AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package, including the AMG limited-slip front differential for even more power when cornering. The thrill is enhanced through the factory fitted AMG, high-performance, braking system. This has red, front brake callipers that are easily visible through the large 19” AMG wheels. The AMG performance exhaust system is actively controlled for more sound and a true racing feel where you can really experience the exhaust backfire during de-acceleration.
