More is coming to MOTAT! Te Puawānanga, the exciting new Science and Technology Centre is opening May 25th. With three distinct spaces to explore, tamariki can surround themselves with the magic of more science and more technology and hands-on exhibitions.
There’s a new play space for under 5s, a science space for engaging experiences, and an innovation space with everything from STEM demonstrations to collection displays.
Te Puawānanga is bringing more science and technology with a distinctly Aotearoa edge to the MOTAT Aucklander’s know and love. Come and discover everything this new science and technology space has to offer!

With live entertainment, games, exhibitions plus endless activities – there's a little something for everyone.
It's full steam ahead this month with LIVE DAY: Steam! Join MOTAT as they have a sizzling day, filled with excitement, activities and of course, steam!
Spend the day hopping on and off one of their beautifully maintained steamed trains or learn the history behind their iconic pump and boiler house.
