New book Kiwis and Cortinas looks at New Zealanders’ enduring fascination with the Cortina and celebrates a car that could almost be called New Zealand’s own.
Researched and written by Gordon Campbell, it features 35 Ford Cortinas and their owners, from some who have just one Cortina to one who owns 12 and another who owns 26! The book covers all the Cortina Marks, from I to V and they all vary in condition – original ‘survivor’ cars, some awaiting restoration, beautifully restored examples, lightly modified and one highly modified car that is still instantly recognisable as a Cortina.
The owners, from all over New Zealand have one thing in common – a passion for the Ford Cortina, a Kiwi cultural icon that appeals to people of all ages from all walks of life.
