Auckland’s newest digital experience
Be surrounded by the sights, sounds and stories of flight in New Zealand with Te Kōtiu, the latest addition to the Aviation Hall. From the migration of our native Kuaka, to celebrating the growing diversity within the aviation and space industries, Te Kōtiu (meaning to swoop) showcases key moments in aviation in Aotearoa with stunning immersive digital projection.
See history come to life with bold balloonists, the glorious gliding of pioneer aviator George Bolt, and the extraordinary feats and records of leading Aotearoa aviators such as Jean Batten. Listen to inspiring messages from female trailblazers such as Air New Zealand pilots and aerospace start-up engineers.

Grab your lab coat, goggles, and gloves and make your way into MOTAT these school holidays as we uncover the magic of science with "Into the Lab." Get hands-on with exhibitions and interactive displays showcasing the body, energy, and scientific discovery.
Catch a live show each hour and learn about the power of physical and chemical changes. Hop onto one of our free heritage trams and head over to the Aviation Hall and engage with microscopes, telescopes, and infrared cameras. Included in General Admission.

With live entertainment, food and beverages plus endless activities – there's a little something for everyone. This April, the best type of fun happens at LIVE DAY: Printing!
Let your artistic talents shine with sun printing and immerse yourself in 3D printing technologies. Plus, all the fun from our April Holiday Experience will be on too.
There will be entertainment, food, games and LIVE DAY classics, such as Little Flick, Trams, the Pumphouse and heaps more!
