I own an EF1 Honda Civic 1987 and want to change the engine & transmission.

It's currently running with a D13B which is 1.3L automatic.

I am planning to change this to a D15B3 which is 1.5L Manual.

How much will it cost to get it certified ?

Cheers!

The Land Transport Association list a figure of between $250 and $800 (on their website) as a guide only to have a low volume inspection carried out, the car certified and a certification plate fitted.

It would depend greatly on the amount of work required and the conversion meeting the necessary standards.

Obviously a lot of re-work to bring the conversion up to the certifiers' standards will add extra costs.

I strongly recommend you touch base with a low volume certifier in your area to discuss the conversion as your first priority.

Go to www.lvvta.org.nz to find a certifier in your area.

In my experience they are there to help and support, but they do have certain standards especially around safety which they will not compromise on.
