Warranty Terms and Conditions

This warranty is given by AA Battery Service Limited to the original purchaser with proof of purchase when making a warranty claim. The benefits conferred by this warranty are in addition to all other rights that you may have under the Consumer Guarantees.

Warranty Period

AA Battery Service stands by the quality of every battery with our Nationwide Warranty Programme:

  • 36 month warranty applies to all Premium batteries for private use vehicles.
  • 24 month warranty applies to all Extra Heavy Duty batteries for private use vehicles.
  • 24 months warranty applies to all AGM and EFB batteries.
  • 12-24 month warranty applies to Marine batteries.
  • 12 month warranty applies to all Commercial fitments.
  • 6 month warranty applies to Taxi and Courier fitments.

In the unlikely event that a new battery purchased from us is found to be defective in material or workmanship “Material Defect” during the warranty period specified above, we will replace your battery free of charge.

The AA Battery Warranty period commences from the date of purchase and, in the case of replacement, will continue for the remaining balance of the warranty period from the original purchase date.

Keep your original receipt or Invoice as ‘Proof of Purchase’ this will be required to validate your warranty claim.

AA Battery Service Warranties are ‘Not Transferable’
and remain solely with the Original Purchaser. Abuse, physical damage, neglect, incorrect installation, poor maintenance or leaving your battery in a discharged state will void the terms of your warranty.

What we cover

Material defect
In the unlikely event that a new battery purchased from us is found to be defective in material or workmanship “Material Defect” during the warranty period specified in this brochure, we will replace your battery free of charge.

Normally Material Defects in a battery will occur typically within the first 6 months of a battery’s life.

What we don’t cover

  • Flat batteries.
  • Incorrect battery installation.
  • Incorrect battery for your vehicle.
  • Normal wear and tear with age.
  • Neglect by failing to keep your battery healthy.
  • Vehicle system failure - Vehicle’s charging system.
  • Prolonged vehicle storage or minimal use.
  • Infrequent usage and only driving short distances.
  • Physical damage to any part of the battery.
  • Frequent deep discharge from heavy loads - radios.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures both hot and cold.
  • Sulphation from prolonged vehicle storage.
  • Jumpstarting other vehicles on a regular basis.
  • The use of special additives to your battery.
  • Prolonged storage of a battery before use.

Our warranty will not apply, and we cannot guarantee the operation and lifecycle of your battery if it is damaged for any reason other than Material Defect.

Please note that costs associated with a flat battery unrelated to Material Defect are not covered under this warranty.

Important: Material defect does not include damage resulting from but not limited to:

  • Incorrect battery installation by anyone other than the AA or one of our authorised stockists.
  • Incorrect use including modification and attempts to open a maintenance free battery.
  • Prolonged vehicle storage or very minimal use which can cause a battery to sulphate and never recover to its full state of charge. This will affect the life of the battery, examples may include driving your vehicle less than an hour a week, regularly driving only short distances, or leaving your vehicle while away on holiday.
  • Neglect or abuse including failing to keep your battery in a good state of charge or jumpstarting other vehicles on a regular basis - see our

  • The use of special additives to the battery.
  • Physical damage including damage to the battery case or bent terminals.
  • Vehicle system failure including failure of your vehicle’s charging system.
  • Frequent deep discharge, for instance heavy accessory loads from car phones, lighting, boat accessories, etc.
  • Incorrect usage by not using the battery for its intended purpose only.
  • Environment by exposing your battery to extreme heat or extreme cold will decrease the life of your battery.
  • Vibration - always ensure your battery is securely clamped as vibration can reduce the life of a battery
