My new car has side airbags, and I was hoping to fit sheepskin seat covers. It has been suggested that I just slit the side to allow the airbags to inflate. Is that a safe option?

A very good question. My best advice is to check with the manufacturer, they may sell covers which are compatible with your vehicle. I would not recommend you simply slit the cover as airbag deployment is very fast and you need to be sure there are no restrictions. You may need to get the sheepskins professionally modified to ensure the airbags will operate correctly, if required.
