Hi, I have shortlisted two cars that I am interested in buying, one being Nissan Tiida 2010 while the other being Toyota Vitz 2010. Both have done between 30K - 40K. Both are almost similarly priced, with Vitz being slightly cheaper. Both imported. So which one do you suggest I buy? Are both reliable? Anything I need to avoid or worry about. Thanks in advance!

Hi there,
They are both popular vehicles, but the Vitz would be my pick mainly because the transmission on the Tiida is most complained about. They seem to have shuddering issues with they cvt transmission and generally seem expensive to repair if fluid changes and additives don't work.
The Vitz doesn't seem to receive any complaints.

Thank you for your quick reply. I have 2 choices in Vitz. One is 2008, 1.5L, 32K and the other is 2010 1.3L 41K. Which one should I go for? Thanks.

Hi there,
It depends on what you are doing with the car.
The smaller engine will be great around town fuel economy wise, but may struggle if you load it up and want to drive up and down the country.
This would be where the 1.5 would be a little bit better, or best of both worlds.
Naturally we suggest the newest vehicle with the lowest km's is best.
