Hi team,

Just in the market for a car that rides quiet and smooth. Preferably not European in the range of $10 - $15k used, sedan body shape. Or if I could stretch my budget would that put me in range for a significantly better option?

Alternatively, can you recommend how I can make my current 2004 Honda Accord CM2 ride quieter? I've tried better tires (Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus) and the next thing I was thinking of trying was to replace any old bushings.

I just want a hushed cabin, must be getting old.

Thanks in advance for your reply,
John

I would go for a test drive in a Mazda Atenza or Toyota Camery or a Nissan Skyline.

As far as the noise I can only suggest basic things like correct tire pressures, or increasing the profile of your tires within manufactures tolerances., Your bushes and rubbers will be becoming harder but the shouldn't have a significant effect on road noise.

Thanks for your reply,

If I was to buy European something like a BMW, what are some common problem models that I should avoid?

I realize that they may offer a quieter ride (and obvious perks), but cost of ownership worries me.

Cheers,
