I have a 1989 Toyota Corolla that has a blown gasket which will cost $2000 tpo fix and may have other damage to the engine due to a leaking water pipe causing the engine to over heat.
As I have had new parts put in the car as a clutch and a radio, the tyres are in good condition and it has 187,000 km on the odometer I am thinking that the car is worth $500. I have been offered $300 on the phone from most car dismantlers.
It would be nice to sell the car to someone that could repair it and resell it but I don't think that's possible.

Trade me would be your best bet in order to find an enthusiast to buy the car with intent to repair and get a higher price potential.
