Hi. I have an option to purchase a near new car with almost 5 years warranty .
Ex Rental.
I have taken it for a test ride. and all appears sound.
Should one get an independant mechanical check in such circumsatances? as one would for an older car outside warranty? Thanks.

Hi there,
Yes we recommend getting an independent inspection to make sure you are fully informed of the vehicle condition before purchase and there are no surprises that you would want to have been made aware of (previous signs of damage and repair, worn out components etc.) https://www.aa.co.nz/cars/buying-a-car/car-buying-guide/pre-purchase-vehicle-inspections
