Our daughter got a hefty bill for her service on quite an old Toyota Corolla 1.8l GL Hatch Rego: BTY133 ($419.50) which seemed justified but then was given a few recommendations which would lay her out for around another $1400!
Here is the list of recommendations:
Drive belt worn-$130incl,
Rocker cover gasket leaking oil $587incl,
Waterpump leaking +engine coolant $587incl.
Automatic transmission fluid dirty $242,
Knocking noise when going around corners $207incl to look further into it,
Replacement aerial $80 )She bought the car for $4500.
Is it worth selling now or are some of these worth fixing to last awhile longer? It has done 156000kms with only one owner previously

Hi there,
These are mostly normal wear and tear items that any car would require at some stage as they age. You might need to get a second opinion for pricing and also start with the most serious and work your way through the list. The coolant leak would be the top of the list, then the drive belt as if this breaks it's not ideal. Then knocking noise and transmission service, with oil leaks and aerial are nice to haves, but not too important at this stage.
