Hi there,

My car was purchased brand new and does not require a WoF until 30-01-2023.
Today I got a $200 infringement notice for an offence ‘No Evidence of Inspection- private vehicle’.
The WoF sticker is clearly displayed.
I do notice that the range of the year of expiry, on the sticker, is only between 2019 and 2022. This means that the sticker would not show my vehicle’s current WOF expiry date.

Would this cause further troubles? (Of course I would dispute the infringement as it was clearly issued in error)

Many thanks
Gabriel

Hi Gabriel,
It would be best to take a photo of the outside of the label and focus on the punched out year on it, and then on the inside take a photo of the expiry date listed on the sticker and send that into the issuer of the infringement it is still current.
Also you might want to look up what your Wof expiry date is listed in the NZTA system- as this could vary as to what is written on your WoF sticker. You can do so online by following this link: https://transact.nzta.govt.nz/transactions/CheckExpiry/entry
