I need a car mainly , go to work and some 1 or 2 long ride for month , my budget is 5500 max , main concerns are Reliability , and fuel economy . I did some research so far and found out that honda fit jazz 2004-2005 , mazda demio 2004-2005 , mitsubishi colt 2004-2006 would be my best options , the place i check they import from japan , so it will be nz new with around 60k to 120k in kms , honda jazz is the best in fuel economy i think but found out it have problems with cvt gear box , if i service it correctly can i avoid it ? , can you please help me in choosing between these and if you have any other models , that you can suggest me , thank you.

My pick of these cars would have to be the Mazda Demio. Great little cars with a standard 4
speed transmission.
The Fit, Jazz, and Colt all have cvt transmissions and are to be avoided.
I would make sure you get an AA Pre Purchase Inspection before you buy a car, to make sure you are not aware of any potential issues with the car.
