My 1996Toyota Carib 1600cc engine cuts out without warning after a few kilometers,..restarts after several attempts , then goes for many klms without doing it again..
It has had the plugs replaced with Iridium types,and a new distributor/coil...
Got me whacked...

To find the issue, the key is to do some diagnosing when it stops and find out what is lacking- spark, or fuel. This will indicate where to continue looking. Is it flooding from too much fuel- faulty temp sensor or airflow meter, or no fuel because the fuel pump shuts down or fuel filter blocked, is the spark stopping- ignition module or ECU fault and so on.
