hi we have a 2005 1.3l Vitz & for last couple of years when car heats up inside during the day the alarm goes off & only stops when vehicle unlocked & windows/doors open. This is most annoying naturally. We had it checked out with a Toyota dealer couple of years ago & nothing was found after an initial check over. That cost $200 odd & couldn't afford to pursue further at time.
Q. do you know if this is a reported fault for these models ? & any suggestions that would help us please?

Hi there,
The Vitz is a Japanese import and might even have an aftermarket alarm fitted.
You might need to have it looked at by an Auto Electrician.
When the vehicle is hot, things could swell causing a trigger- this can be a bonnet, boot, or any door sensor. Maybe try turning your interior light off door open mode and try that. Or you could have some triggers disconnected to see if any make a difference. Or just have the system disabled.
