Hi there

I've been looking after my low profile tyres (205/40/17) by regularly putting the correct PSI and being careful with the way I drive etc. There isn't many potholes to avoid where I live.

However, I noticed on a number of occasions there has been a split on the entire sidewall where it's joined with the tread. It's happened with cheap Chinese brand new tyres once it has reached the age of 3.5 years old and also 4.5 years old.

Is this a manufacturing issue or something common with low profile tyres not having enough sidewalls?

Would buying better quality low profile tyres help make it last longer or would they also fail similarly?

Thanks
