I have a 2006 Suzuki swift which is chain driven.
Occasionally when it’s raining it’ll make a loud high pitched squealing noise and will go away when the car has warmed up. It only ever happens when it’s wet.

What could possibly be the reason it’s happening? And what should I ask my mechanic to look over? Would this be a costly repair also?

Hi there,
It sounds like a rubber drive belt could be loose or worn. It would pay to go and get it checked to prevent damage to the belt.
