Hi,

I have a 2008 Nissan Tiida hatchback and I need to replace all 4 tyres. The shop said to get 175/65R15 but on the side of the car door, it only says 185/65R15.

Which one should I follow? Or is one a substitute for the other as long as all 4 are the same? Any differences between the two?

Hi a 175 tyre is narrower than the recommendation on the vehicle placard, I would ask the tyre shop why they recommend the 175 tyre it could simply be a matter of cost and availability.
The 175 tyre will be a substitute if all tyres are being replaced and should be legal if the tyre shop has recommended them as a suitable substitute .
