The Auto Transmission of my 1994 Nissan Maxima 3.0 Sedan is slipping in Drive position. All others positions are working good.
A motor garage wants $2,300 to repair the damage, but I feel that the car value does not warrant spending that sort of money. It is the labour costs that is the problem (16 hours to rectify).
My question is, will it do damage to the engine etc by driving the vehicle in gear 2 position at 50 to 70 km?

It is unlikely to damage the engine, however you risk causing further damage to the transmission. Also, as the engine will be revving higher, it will consume a lot more fuel.
