When should you replace the timing chain? We have a Toyota Camry V6 on 150,000KM and a Mitsubishi Lancer on 160,000

There is no recommended replacement period. Just keep changing the oil/filter on a regular basis.

A engine rattle is the common tell-tale sign the chain has wear.

An expensive job if you do happen to be the unlucky owner who copes this repair.
