The warning lights keep coming on apparently randomly on my Outback. The Subaru people have replaced the tensioner in the engine, and now tell me there is a different fault related to the exhaust sensor. Apparently the sensors "age and may need to be replaced" - at considerable further expense. Are other people experiencing this problem? I've done 150,000 km.

If Subaru are telling you it’s the oxygen sensor then you have to believe them otherwise you are going to get totally confused and get all sorts of mixed messages.

My only advice would be to get a genuine sensor fitted regardless of any aftermarket price comparisons.

We get to hear about aftermarket sensors still throwing up dash warning lights. The one sensor fits all theory sometimes doesn’t work.
