The transmission on my car is leaking oil every now and then.

I've brought a transmission fluid which also stops leaks but the problem is still there.

Will it be a costly repair job?

I can't answer your question on the possible costs to repair the leak, you will need to take the car to either a automatic transmission specialist or your local garage for an inspection.

What I would strongly warn you against however is pouring any form of stop leak product into the transmission.

This could cause transmission operating issues and it is highly unlikely it will stop the leak completely.

My best advice is to get the leak checked, it may be something fairly minor and in the end, cheaper to repair than pouring a stop leak product into the transmission which may end up doing more harm than good.
