Hi team,
I recently bought a new BMW 116i in black and was told about Dura Seal G3 which is a ceramic based paint protector.

Probably you have heard of it already, but what I to know is it worth spending around $500 for it ? Does it actually benefit me or will cause issues with the paint after a while or become totally useless and ineffective?

They offer life time warranty.. While it sounds good, I still want to know your opinions on this.

I live in an apartment and keep the car in the garage, obviously I am not able to "wash" the car in there, and for sure I don't want to take it to an auto carwash with brushes. so i am looking for a way to protect the paint ( while car sits outside during business hours ) and just keep the paint fresh and easy to clean ( with a wet sponge or towel ).

What are your recommendations on this matter?
I am sure others would be interested to read about it too :)

Thanks

The products which are applied to the paint surface claim to be good in protecting the paint surface and are often sold when purchasing a new car - they do seem to work reasonably well but the paintwork on new vehicles has improved over the years and a good wax every 6 weeks or so would do the same job. This is normally an upsell and if you look after your vehicle and park it in a garage most of the time it shouldn't be necessary to have this product on your car. Avoid hard brushes/car washes with the black paintwork as it is likely to leave marks on the paintwork.

Thanks for your feedback .
The car will be outside during business hours and exposed to elements . Would wax be sufficient ? Does wax attract dust more ?

This wasn't offered by the dealer . It's just me wanting to protect the paint but don't want to harm the paint or waste money .

Your advices are so great !

It most probably will attract a small amount of dust but if done properly the shine on the paintwork will look good.

You should also speak to the dealer to see what they have to offer and what they recommend - for a second opinion.
