Could you please explain why I have to change oil & filter on my 2006 Toyota Hilux diesel every 7500 km and why for example a Renault Clio 1500 diesel has service intervals every 30.000 km.

We recently toured through Europe in this great small car).

I would check with your local Toyota dealer on the service intervals that best suit your needs.

Quite often the shorter intervals are recommended where the vehicle is exposed to dusty or off road conditions which some HiLux's would be driven in.

As the HiLux is considered a 'workhorse' type of vehicle as opposed to the Renault, you may find the service schedule is designed more around an anticipated harsher environment.

Depending on the environment you are driving the vehicle in, they may approve of longer intervals between servicing.

If you tow or use the vehicle off road then its highly likely the shorter intervals will be recommended.

It must be said in recent times we have found a large number of manufacturers are pushing their service intervals out, on both diesel and petrol models.
