My Corolla, which I have owned from new, developed a leak in the power steering pump at 70,000k. The seals were replaced, same again at 97,000k, 110,000k (twice in same month) and now at 111,000k. This is getting pretty expensive and inconvenient. I have been told these pumps are normally pretty reliable. This car has always been serviced by Toyota. Any comments?

I can accept a seal may develop a leak after 70,000kms but once it has been replaced it should last for a similar distance if not longer.

I would be sitting down with the repairer and asking them to explain why this is happening.

This is definitely not normal especially for a Toyota, a brand which for many consumers sells itself on long term reliability and low running costs.

Do not accept this as being a normal occurrence.

Please let me know what their explanation is for the repeated failure.
