Hi can anyone help me figure out what the common faults wear and tear wise would be on a 2007 Toyota Caldina and a 2010 /11 Nissan Wingroad. Thats a big ask I guess but wanted to get expert advice, the net has conflicting info. Any comments would be great :-)
Thank you

This is from a previous post on the Caldina.
The 1.8 Caldina is a good car, with a good reputation for reliability and is very easy to get parts for, especially mechanical parts as the basic running gear is the same as the Corolla.
It is the sort of car that New Zealand mechanics are very familiar with, so having repairs and servicing carried out will not be a problem.
Information on faults seem to be hard to find for both vehicles.

Thank you that must be why the Caldinas are so popular Ive heard mixed reviews on the Nissan WIngroad and the CVT issues some say that they are way better on the later models others say to steer clear altogether as some later models have the old ones in. Anyway Im checking out some Caldinas this weekend 8.1L (2005) at 80,000 km for $ 10,000 and 2 L (2007) for $12,000 both under 100,000 the 2Litre done 64,000 km. This is a recommended honest dealer from someone in the know who has a good rep but thats also expensive compared to the Nissan WIngroads of later models and Im a bit nervous spending thousands on it!. What are your thoughts on the 2007 model compared to the 2005 I have heard 8.1 L may be better they are new imports but they have been around for a while and if I on sell later they'll be even older!
