Hi,
I'm new to the forum. I recently had my vehicle go through a complete full premium service at one of your AA service and repair branches in New Lynn. I was hoping the mechanics would notice what was happening with the transmission especially when tuning the vehicle. I'm not too bright on vehicle operations but prior to the service work done by the mechanic the vehicle keeps starting in 2nd gear when on auto drive. I own a automatic Toyota MR2 91 G Limited. Is this a major and should this have been covered in the service inspection? I find it anoying because I am having to manually change to 1st gear to take off before changing back to auto drive. Hopefully you can advise me I would like to have work done on it if AA supports it..

Cheers,

Josh.

Repairing a defect with the transmission is not something that would be covered by a service - it is a separate (and potentially expensive) operation, probably best undertaken by an automatic transmission specialist.
There is a very good AA Licensed automatic transmission specialist in Onehunga called Auckland Automatics.
