My friend's car is parked up at my place whilst he is holidaying in Australia. (He is also a member) The key will not turn in the ignition even if moving the steering wheel. Is this a situation where I could get a callout from the AA? The car is an automatic Holden Vectra, 2.2. So cannot move the gear stick to push the car.

The car should have an emergency park lock release button down by the gear lever. This will allow you to select neutral and enable the vehicle to be pushed around.
The vehicle may have a separate key for the ignition and the door locks, or the steering lock is stuck on.
Call the road service on 0800 500 222 for further assistance if you can't start the vehicle.
