Hi,

I have recently purchased a 2009 Ford Focus, recently I have noticed that the brakes are making a squealing noise. I hear the noise after applying the brakes and the car has come to a stop and as soon as I release the break there is always this noise.

Could this be something serious and costly? There is no noise when applying the breaks while the car is moving but only when the car has completly stopped and the break is released slightly.

Thanks,
Dave

It seems very strange there is no noise when the brakes are applied and the noise only appears when the car has stopped and the brakes released slightly. Either way the brakes/noise need to be checked out by your local garage.

A quick run around the block with a mechanic should be enough to identify the cause of the problem.

It wouldn’t hurt to get the front brake pad condition checked regardless.
