Hi,
I have a Honda XR250 2004 Motorcycle. The owner's manual states to use 91 octane or higher. I've read that a low combustion engine like mine would run best on 91 and that it's a waste of money buying higher octane fuel. However I also have noticed a lot of motorcycle riders saying they only use 98 octane for their bikes because it helps to go faster and lasts longer. What do you think?

Thanks.

Hi there,
It would be a matter of what feels better for you - some people might notice a difference (or think they do) while others would say it just costs more to fill. If the bike is designed for 91, generally in standard form it would perform best with that. You might just have to try it and see what you think.
