Hi there, I have a performance vehicle which needs 98 petrol but just recently filling up the tank I noticed that 98 is 38 cents per litre more than 95 octane petrol. I used to remember that this difference was about 15 cents max. Is there anything that has changed that makes 98 so much more expensive now?

No, nothing has changed, in fact it has been the case for several years that 98 costs 30c or more than 91 (50c has been observed) and even 95 can cost 20c or more than 91 depending on brand. The only company that doesn't charge that much more for 98 is Gull. But its hard to compare because the price is not on the board, but a new law is going to mandate this.
