Hi Jack.

I have a new 2011 Toyota Aurion Sportivo V6 and I use 91 Octane fuel. I know this car will take higher octanes and am aware of the consumption/power benefits and how 91 octane doesn't burn as clean as the higher ones.

My question is: Should I periodically, ie on a long trip, fill the car with a higher octane to "clean" the internal components or is 91 perfectly fine to use permanently? I intend to keep the car for some significant time and travel around 12-14k per year and am more than happy with the performance on 91.

Thanks,

Ian

According to the Toyota NZ website 91 octane is the recommended fuel for this model so there is no need to go outside that recommendation regardless of how long you intend to keep the vehicle.
