Hi,
I've imported my diesel car and the odometre reads in miles. How does this work with Road user charges?

Do I pay for 1000 "units" and just treat each unit as 1 mile? - that seems to easy...any and all info is appreciated.
Cheers.

You purchase the RUC in kilometres and the label is automatically generated in miles. This will be based on information entered into the NZTA Motor Vehicle Registry data base at the time of the vehicle compliance.

The only curve ball would be if the odometer was converted to read in kilometres after compliance had taken place.

In this case you would need to change the details recorded on the MVR by completing a MR16 form which are available from a NZTA agent such as a Vehicle Testing Station or AA Centre.
