If the instructions with a new car (2014 Ford Kuga 1600 turbo petrol) state that it needs 95 Octane fuel, will it effect :- the engine reliability, the fuel economy and the manufactures warranty if it is run on 91 Octane fuel.

The 1.6L EcoBoost engine in the Ford Kuga requires the use of a minimum 95 octane fuel. You could potentially destroy the engine in the long run if you continually use 91 octane fuel and the manufacturer’s warranty will be void. You will not benefit from using 91 octane fuel. You should always stick to the manufacturers recommendations.
