I Recently received a $200 fine for my vehicle being unregistered.
I was wondering whether I have any basis to contest this as I never received the two week reminder in the mail. Then once I had become aware that my car's Rego was expired, I didn't have enough to pay for it and was needing to wait until my next payday so that I could afford the $100 12 month cost.

I wouldn't think this would be enough to waive a ticket, at the end of the day it is the vehicle owners responsibility to ensure their vehicle license and wof remain up to date before using it on the road.
